Project description:

How to Winter was a community meditation and book club held bi-monthly through the winter at the Hood River Library.
During the free class, we connected with each other, practice meditation, and discussed the ideas within How to Winter by Kari Leibowitz. Books were provided free through the library.
Instead of simply enduring winter, we explored gentle practices that brought rest, creativity, and grounding into the season, drawing inspiration from the book’s comforting imagery and insights. This gathering offered a cozy space to slow down, connect with others, and discover meaningful ways to care for ourselves during the darker months, learning how to make winter a time of renewal rather than retreat.
